The folk of the Dream discover and develop skills and powers as they progress. Not all skills need to be acquired at the start. Many can be added and learned. What you can add and learn depends on your class (or job).
Races have certain innate affects, immunities, resistances, vulnerabilities, and skills. Beyond this, each class offers a wide range of spell groups and skills.
Having a skill or spell is no guarantee that you can use it. Your level also determines whether you are powerful enough to control the powers. Using skills and spells improves your abilities to control them.
